Gas line installation means running gas to an appliance that never had it. Typical cases are a new range, a fireplace, a generator or a pool heater. It needs a permit: North Carolina requires one for the installation, extension, alteration, or general repair of any heating or cooling equipment system, issued in the county by Mecklenburg County Code Enforcement.
